Fill us anew

Well, the first day of school is quickly approaching. Lots of excitement and anxiety (more anxiety than anything right now) is being felt as I try to mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually prepare for Monday. I covet your prayers immensely. Not just for myself. But also for the students, staff, and parents of this school. We are in a country that is imprisoned and oppressed by the very idols and gods (which are no god at all) they worship. We are in the midst of a war for souls. Please pray for and with us that Christ may be high and lifted up so that He may draw these students' hearts (and ours) to Himself.

This school is a great school. Academically, it is one of the top notch international schools in Taiwan. Spiritually, it has a top notch staff- people that love Jesus and are filled with God's Spirit, sent here by Him to know and love Him more and make Him known. I look forward to getting to know them even more and working alongside all of them in this labor of love for His glory.

The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind- filled with lots of meetings, questions, answers, Chinese, laughs, tears, food, fellowship and preparatory work. They've also been filled with constant reminders of God's faithfulness, provisions, and the sweetest thing of all...His presence.

There are some verses and a song that I have been reminded of that I will probably be clinging to in my prayers as this year unfolds.

A couple of the verses are (I'm sure there will be more to come this year!):

Hebrews 13:20-21
"Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Psalm 115:1
"Not to us, LORD, not to us
but to Your name be the glory,
because of Your love and faithfulness."

And the song:
Consuming Fire by Hillsong United

Praying God would fill us anew and fan into flame a passion for His Name in this precious student body. O God- let it be! Have Your way!
