In memory of my Great-Grandpa Al

Just found out a few days ago my great-grandpa Al passed away- on August 11. This was not something that I expected and am sad to hear. However, I think he knew Jesus so if that's the case then I am thankful that I will get to see him again one day.

I had the privilege of seeing him this past summer after not having seen him for many years. He still had a wonderful sense of humor in-tact even though his memory was slipping because of Alzheimers' disease. His smile was adorable as well. I know my family and I will miss him greatly.

May you rest in peace. You will be missed, Grandpa.
I love you.

Death is such an indescribably horrible thing. But thanks be to God that when you have a true, saving relationship with Him through Christ life does not end for you when you take your last breath on earth.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57 (NIV)

54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, when a loved one dies that knew the Lord, we don't have to grieve in such a way that leaves us in utter despair and hopelessness because we will see them again one day!

Believers Who Have Died- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Thank You, Lord, that only in You we have life- not only life here on earth, but also everlasting life with You! For You alone are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Apart from You there is no savior.
